    The Salt River Wild Horse Management Group\u2019s definition of benevolence is:<\/p>\n

    1. \u00a0Garrett<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      As we follow the lives of the Salt River wild horses, we celebrate their births and, at times, stand witness to their deaths. But it is the trials in between\u2014the quiet battles and untold journeys\u2014that forge them into who they are meant to become.<\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/p>\n

      Garrett was sired by Diego, a powerful stallion who knew his way around a fight, and out of the ever-beautiful Sapphire. Born along the winding Salt River in 2012, Garrett entered the world already carrying the legacy of strength and grace.<\/p>\n

      From the very beginning, Garrett possessed those deep, dark eyes that could stop you in your tracks\u2014turning heads and winning hearts with a single glance. Built much like his father, he learned quickly and fought hard, rising through the ranks of young bachelors with determination and grit. In time, he claimed his place on the second rung of the ladder\u2014a hard-earned position in a world where strength is constantly tested. Because no matter how high you climb, there is always another challenger below, and always another summit above.<\/p>\n

      In one fierce clash, Garrett sustained an injury\u2014not life-threatening, but enough to change his course. With a damaged lower leg, he could no longer stand his ground in battle. So, he did what survival demanded\u2014he stepped away. Alone, he disappeared into the vast desert landscape.<\/p>\n

      It was a harsh time to vanish. The drought had begun tightening its grip on the land, choking out the grass, and testing every living thing that called the river home.<\/p>\n

      Garrett hid so well that even we struggled to find him. And when we finally did, what we discovered told a story no one expected. His leg had healed\u2014but he was not alone.<\/p>\n

      At his side stood a fragile, underweight yearling\u2014Nahele, the young son of Iroquois. Iroquois\u2019 band was known for staying hidden, so their absence was nothing new. But this was different. Nahele had somehow been cast out far too soon, left to face a brutal world before his time.<\/p>\n

      And Garrett\u2014strong, battle-tested Garrett\u2014chose him.<\/p>\n

      He took the young colt under his protection. Together, they moved across the land\u2014eating, drinking, and resting side by side. Through the unforgiving days and uncertain nights, Garrett stayed with him, guarding him, guiding him, teaching him what it meant to survive\u2026 and what it meant to be a stallion.<\/p>\n

      For months, he stood by Nahele when the young one needed him most\u2014just as he had once done for Poppy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

      Not out of instinct. Not out of obligation. But out of something more.<\/p>\n

      So, tell us\u2026 does our definition of benevolence still hold true?<\/p>\n
