<\/p>\nMost people don\u2019t realize this, but the Salt River wild horses are protected entirely by the community, and our supporters \u2014 not by government funding. Every fence line, every rescue, every bale of hay, ever day of monitoring, our hotline etc, can exist only because people choose to support our important work. Without that support, these horses would literally be nowhere; and they would have no safety net.<\/p>\n

Sadly, we did not make our Giving Tuesday goal, but we still need to complete 2 expensive miles of fencing so that the “Bad boys” cannot cross the dangerous road anymore!<\/p>\n
One simple way to help right now is through our 2026 Salt River Wild Horses Calendar! Please beware that there are other calendars, none if which contribute towards the horses, so please promote ours! We, SRWHMG are the only one with the huge responsibility to care for these precious families.<\/p>\n
On the front of the calendar you can see how close these families are, it features Athena, Venus and Iris, sharing the exact same piece of eelgrass, even while they can eat anywhere in the river. It’s the wild horse way of sharing meaningful family dinner.<\/p>\n
Each month of our Calendar features a new carefully chosen image of Salt River wild horses, paired with a poem that tells their story. Printed on thick high quality, frame-worthy paper, many save and frame the pictures after the year ends. With Christmas fast approaching, calendars can be sent directly to friends and family as meaningful gifts \u2014 and 100% of proceeds go back to protecting the horses!<\/p>\n
