The attack on the Salt River wild horses (and the Alpine wild horses) is much more sinister than what the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) and Maricopa Audubon Society would like their supporters to believe.<\/p>\n

This is John Koleszar, with Arizona Sportsman for wildlife conservation, one of the plaintiffs of the lawsuit that seeks to end the humane and responsible management of the Salt River wild horses. This is who CBD, and the Maricopa Audubon has partnered up with.<\/p>\n

We were never going to publish this horrid picture, but a light needs to be shed on the motives behind the targeting of our Arizona wild horses.
\nJohn sent this picture of himself laughing next to a dead wild horse, to his friends Robin Silver with CBD and Jackie Hughes, who is the roundup contractor making a million dollars on the removal of the Alpine wild horses. (For the Apache Sitgreaves Forest Service)<\/p>\n

The picture was accompanied with a triumphant text about the dead wild horse. (He also accidentally sent it to us<\/em> and therefore there are no restrictions on us publishing it. )<\/p>\n

Robin Silver and John Koleszar and Jacklynn Hughes met and formed their partnership during the Salt River Horse Collaborative in 2019. Jackie Hughes, at that time, was the Salt River horse Liaison for the AZDA. She tried to sabotage the humane management program from the inside out, but she was discovered, and lost her job instead.<\/p>\n

The text thread between these three individuals is evidence that the new lawsuit is not based on honest concern for the environment, but on old-fashioned revenge, greed and pure hate for wild horses, and the people who treasure them.<\/p>\n

The Salt River wild horses are protected by the state of Arizona; they are being humanely and responsibly managed; there are only 314 of them on the forest, and they are not the cause of dried up forage in Arizona or pollution along the Salt River. They’ve already been restricted to just 12 miles of the 200 mile long Salt River, which is not designated as a rare and scenic River, because of the 8 million visitors to it. The Salt River herd has only one foal each year. Interestingly, the lawsuit seeks to end the fertility control program, which would then cause a population boom, which would cause more alleged damage to the environment, not less.<\/p>\n

It doesn’t make any sense, until you understand the cruel motives. This trio is dragging their organizations and the Forest Service, into a battle with the public of Arizona that is not necessary.<\/p>\n

Deep hatred is what is driving the baseless and deceitful lawsuit, NOT honest concern for the environment.<\/p>\n

We would like this triumphantly smirking man and his associates investigated for the brutal shootings of 50 Alpine wild horses in the Apache Sitgreaves Forest.<\/p>\n
